History
T.E.A.C.H is an acronym for
Teaming
Education and
Athletics to
Create
Hope. The two main groups that form Project T.E.A.C.H. are the Tri-City Relays Track Club and Academics & Athletics. The entire organization is comprised of volunteer coaches and tutors. All board members are also volunteers. The Tri-City Relays Track Club has been in competition since 1980. It's former athletes have earned over 75 AAU All-American awards, plus have tied or set numerous Junior Olympic records. The team travels all over the country for track and field competitions.
Academics and Athletics grew from the track club. The founders of the academic program wanted to build upon the exploits of the track club. Their goals include helping students imprve in their academic studies. Volunteers to the program spend thousands of hours each year tutoring students.
